Air India Jaipur-Bengaluru flight cancelled keeping passengers perplexed

Plight of refuses to die down. A day after the devastating crash of its Dreamliner London-bound plane, which claimed lives of 241 passengers, a plane of its domestic Air India Express flight from Jaipur to Bengaluru suffered technical glitch resulting into cancellation of the flight. Earlier in the morning today, an Air India flight from Thai island Phuket to had to undergo emergency landing due to bomb scare.

The Tata Group company, which has recently posted a record revenue of Rs 61,000 crore in fiscal 2024-25, may start losing trust of passengers. 

In Friday, the crew members of Jaipur-Bengaluru flight tested patience of around 200 passengers.  

The passengers were put on the flight three times, but the plane could not take off. The flight was eventually cancelled. This caused an uproar among the passengers.”

In fact, Air India Express Flight IX – 2749 was scheduled to fly from Jaipur airport to Bengaluru at 11:30 am on Friday. However, company officials did not allow the flight to take off at the scheduled time, citing a technical glitch in the engine.

“After this, takeoff was announced at 3 pm and again at 5 pm, the passenger was seated on the flight, but the plane's AC was not even turned on. 

From 5 pm to 6:30 pm, the passengers continued to be troubled in the . When the flight could not take off for the third time, the passengers created a ruckus. The airline staff cancelled the flight citing an engine malfunction.

200 passengers gathered in the lobby

As soon as the flight was cancelled, 200 passengers gathered in the lobby area of the airport. The passengers demanded alternative flights and refunds from the company officials. The company officials refused to refund. The airline promised to pay online in the next week, seeing the growing uproar of passengers.

Air India had done it before also

This is not for the first time at Jaipur Airport that Air India cancelled flight after boarding passengers. On February 2025, Air India Express Airlines cancelled Jaipur-Mumbai flight after keeping the plane on runway with passengers on board for hours citing technical reasons.
