In a major administrative reshuffle ahead of the upcoming Bihar assembly elections, the state government transferred 12 IAS and six IPS officers. New sub-divisional officers (SDOs) have been appointed in 36 sub-divisions, which play a crucial role as returning officers during elections.
New SDOs have also been posted in Masaurhi and Barh sub-divisions of Patna district.
According to a notification issued by the general administration department, IAS officer Gunjan Singh (2020 batch) has been appointed deputy development commissioner (DDC) of Bhojpur, replacing Anupama Singh (2020 batch), who has been posted as joint secretary in the health department.
Shubham Kumar, the All-India UPSC topper from the 2021 batch and current SDO of Barh, has been appointed municipal commissioner of Bhagalpur Municipal Corporation.
He replaces Dr Priti (2019 batch), who is now the DDC of Jehanabad.
Shaileja Pande (2021 batch) has been posted as DDC, Samastipur, while her batchmate Shiwakshi Dikshit becomes municipal commissioner of Munger. Surya Pratap Singh, currently SDO of Dehri-on-Sone, has been made DDC of Kaimur, and Praveen Kumar, currently SDO of Hilsa, has been appointed DDC of Begusarai.
Other appointments include Akash Choudhary (DDC, Buxar), Sara Ashraf (DDC, Supaul) and Anil Basak (DDC, Madhepura) – all from the 2021 batch
Laxman Tiwari (2021 batch), currently SDO of Chhapra (Sadar), has been transferred to Bettiah as municipal commissioner.
According to a separate notification from the home department, IPS officer Rajeev Ranjan (2012 batch) has been posted as SP of the State Crime Records Bureau.
His batchmate Rakesh Kumar Sinha has been appointed SP of the Vigilance Investigation Bureau
Pankaj Kumar (2013 batch) is now SP of the Economic Offences Unit, while Anant Kumar Rai (2016 batch) has been named assistant inspector general (AIG), traffic.
Manish Kumar Sinha (2018 batch) has been posted as commandant of the special security force and his batchmate Rajesh Kumar becomes commandant of the Bihar Special Armed Police-16, Patna
