The central government has notified promotion of 16 Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) officers to Indian Administrative Service (IAS). While 13 officers re from 1998 batch, three are from 1999 batch.
Gopal Ram Birda whose name was sealed in the envelop following a departmental enquiry has finally made it to the tally. He has obtained a court stay on the enquiry the DoPT decided to grant him the promotion. Birda, a 1998 batch officer is currently serving as Additional Director General, Jawahar Kala Kendra.
Meghna Chaudhary, a 1998-batch RAS officer is currently serving as Additional Inspector General, Registration and Stamps (Administration), Ajmer.
Om Prakash Jain,also a a 1998-batch RAS officer, is currently serving as Director, Tribal Research and Training Institute, Manikya Lal Verma, Udaipur.
Rajesh Singh, a 1998-batch RAS officer, is currently serving as Member, Board of Revenue, Ajmer.
Mukesh Kumar Sharma, a 1998-batch RAS officer, is currently serving as Secretary, Rajasthan State Information Commission, Jaipur.
Mahendra Kumar Sharma, a 1998-batch RAS officer, is currently serving as Joint Secretary, Technical Education Department, Jaipur.
Anju Rajpal, a 1998-batch RAS officer, is currently serving as Joint Secretary to the Chief Minister. She is sister of Manju Rajpal, who is a 2000 batch IAS officer and currently serving as Principal Secretary, Agriculture and Horticulture.
Vivek Kumar, a 1998-batch RAS officer, is currently serving as Additional Inspector General (Administration), Office of the Registration and Stamps Department, Jaipur.
Madan Lal Nehra, a 1998-batch RAS officer, is currently serving as Member, Board of Revenue, Ajmer.
Dinesh Kumar Jangid, a 1998-batch RAS officer, is currently serving as Joint Secretary, Animal Husbandry Department, Jaipur.
Poonam Prasad Sagar, a 1998-batch RAS officer, is currently serving as Additional Commissioner, Food and Civil Supplies Department, Jaipur.
Ummed Singh, a 1998-batch RAS officer, is currently serving as Officer on Special Duty (SA) to Cabinet Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, who handles the Industries and Commerce, Youth Affairs, and Sports departments.
Mahaveer Kharadi, a 1998-batch RAS officer, is currently serving as Additional Commissioner (II), Tribal Area Development Department, Udaipur. He is also the President of the RAS Association.
Dr Bhagchand Badhal, a 1999-batch RAS officer, is currently serving as Additional Commissioner, Jaipur Development Authority.
Aslam Sher Khan, a 1999-batch RAS officer, is currently serving as
Joint Secretary, Minority Affairs and Waqf Department, Jaipur.
Narendra Kumar Bansal, a 1999-batch RAS officer, is currently serving as Additional Commissioner, Jaipur Municipal Corporation.
Fate of 4 other Services officers still in limbo
Even as 10 months have been elapsed after final selection of four officers from other services through special selection, the stage government has not recommended the names to DoPT despite several reminders. Interviews were held in December 2025 and four officers were selected from 20 officers who appeared for the interview. The selection was against 2024 vacancy. Now selection for 2025 vacancies is also due.
