PM surya Ghar scheme gets popular, over 2 lakh consumers shown interest in a month

More than 2 consumers in Rajasthan have agreed to install their own roof top solar plant by registering on the portal in a  month. 

All these consumers will now be provided  with a maximum of central assistance of Rs. 78,000 due in the PM Suryaghar Free Electricity Scheme as well as an additional subsidy of Rs 17,000 by Rajasthan Discoms.

“As a result of this, in a little more than a month, more than 2 lakh electricity consumers have agreed to install their own roof top solar plant by registering on the portal,” the Minsiter said. 

Ajitabh Sharma, Principal Government Secretary, Department of Power, said that government offices in which required space for setting up roof top solar projects is not available, can also move forward on the basis of virtual net metering and group net metering

He directed Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation to conduct necessary surveys in this regard.

Arti Dogra, of Rajasthan Discoms, said that since the launch of the portal in October, 2,07804 consumers have given their consent to install their own roof top solar in the 150 unit free electricity scheme. 

More than one lakh roof top solar have been installed in the state under the PM Surya Ghar scheme. More model solar villages have been selected in 11 districts of the state under the PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme.
