Kota consumer court orders appearance of Salman Khan in pan masala case, orders forensic examination of his signature

The Kota Consumer has ordered a forensic examination of  the signature of Bollywood star Salman Khan. While hearing the pan masala advertisement case, the court said that he will have to appear in person with the documents on January 20.

The court ordered in response to petitioner leader and advocate Indramohan Singh Honey, who had objected to Salman Khan's signature on the plea and reply presented in the court. He had demanded a probe into Salman Khan's signature.

The court directed the examination from the authorised and recognised agency or Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) of the state under 38 (9) (d) of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and section 73 (2) of the Indian Evidence Act.

The court has directed Salman Khan to appear in person along with advocate RC Choubey, who has notarised the plea and reply.

The complainant Indramohan Singh Honey said, “The plea and reply submitted by Bollywood star Salman Khan did not have Salman Khan's signature. Salman's signatures were different from those in the Jodhpur jail and the court there.”

He objected to Salman Khan's signature and demanded an FSL inquiry into the signature as well as Salman's personal appearance. The court accepted our objection.

On November 3, this year the Kota had issued notices to Bollywood stars Salman Khan and Company seeking their response. Advocate Indramohan Singh Honey filed a petition in the court alleging misleading advertisements in the name of ‘cardamom with saffron'.
