After a deficient monsoon, Rajasthan government is focussed on ensuring time-bound and easy availability of fertilisers including urea and DAP to the farmers during the Rabi season in the state, which received 350.49 mm of rainfall against the normal 424.71 mm, a deficit of 17.33%.
Rajasthan State Cooperative Marketing Federation (RajFed) Managing Director Sourabh Swami in a joint chairmanship with Agriculture Commissioner Naresh Kumar Goyal directed officials and fertiliser supplier companies to ensure availability, allocation, supply and distribution system of fertilisers throughout the state.
Goyal said that it is the top priority of the department to provide fertilisers to the farmers on time as per their actual requirement.
He directed that the district-wise allocation of urea and DAP should be done in accordance with the actual consumption of the concerned areas, the need of crops and demand, so that there is no unnecessary shortage or unbalanced distribution of fertilizers in any district.
He directed officials to conduct regular monitoring of fertiliser distribution centres to ensure easily availability to farmers at prescribed rates.
Keep vigil on diversion of fertilisers and black marketing
Goyal said that the use of fertilisers allocated to farmers should be ensured in agricultural works only. Officials should take special precautions to prevent illegal storage of fertilisers, diversion in non-agricultural works and black marketing. Effective monitoring should be maintained from the supply of fertilisers to the final distribution and strict action should be taken as per the rules in case of any irregularity.
Give priority to farmers and smooth supply system
Sourabh Swami, while reviewing the supply and distribution system of fertilisers, said that officials of Agriculture and Cooperative Department should work in coordination with each other to provide fertilisers to the farmers on time. The demand for fertilisers, available stock and distribution should be reviewed regularly so that the farmers do not face unnecessary problems.
He directed that fertiliser supplier companies should ensure time-bound supply as per the prescribed allocation and maintain continuous coordination with the concerned officials at the district level.
