A case of corruption has been registered against two IAS officers – Harshika Singh and Divyank Singh – with Madhya Pradesh Lokayukta.
Harshika Singh, a 2012 batch officer is currently serving as director Skill Development department. while Divyank Singh, a 2017 batch officer, is serving as CEO Indore Smart City.
What is the case?
The case is two years old when Harshika Singh was Indore Nagar Nigam commissioner. During her tenure a contractual civil engineer Devesh Kothari was appointed as Building Officer overlooking the eligibility criteria.
Former councillor Dilip Kaushal had filed a complaint in the Lokayukta in this regard. The Lokayukta has taken up the investigation of the case.
During his tenure, Devesh Kothari approved 250 building maps, which needs to be investigated.
It is alleged that Kothari had concealed the fact of being on contract while he was considered for the post of building officer.
The councillor Dilip Kaushal alleged that the fact was brought in the knowledge of Harshika Singh but she ignored and did not take any action.
Later when Divyank Singh became CEO of Indore Smart City, even he didn't take any action.
