Central Park stumped, wears bald look 

At a time when cities are gasping for greenery to fight pollution, a stump tree welcomes you at the Central Park. , which maintains this 52 hectares green patch in mid of the city, is busy cutting and pruning trees giving them a bald look. 

Imagination of bald trees in Central Park comes to real terms for daily walkers when JDA blatantly pruned trees, cut them to bottom and left them branchless and leafless.

“It's like cutting oxygen supply. The lush Central Park now looks bald and lifeless. I don't know why JDA is after cutting trees,” ask's Pramod Kumar Gupta, a regular at Central Park.

The every year organises and afforestation drives to increase green cover. It's said to see Central Park pruning its cover rather than increasing vegetation.

“The way trees have been cut. It will take at least 5-7 years for these tress to reach the stage they were before being cut down. It's criminal to erode the green cover,” said Dr Rameshwar Sharma, Professor of Botany.
