The first-of-its-kind inter medical college indoor sports festival – ARENA 26 – ended in a style.
The event, organised for resident doctors and faculty members, was, provided a vibrant platform for the medical fraternity to promote fitness, well-being, and professional camaraderie.
Rajasthan Legislative Assembly speaker Vasudev Devnani was the Chief Guest of the valedictory ceremony. Sharing the dais with him were Dr. Mohnish Grover, Principal and Controller, RUHS Medical College, Dr. Sudhanshu Kakkar, Pro Vice Chancellor, RUHS, Dr. Anil Yadav, and Dr. Tanya Mahalwal, President, Resident Doctors' Association (RDA), RUHS.
ARENA 26 witnessed enthusiastic participation from nearly 265 participants representing more than 15 medical colleges across Rajasthan, including faculty members, resident doctors, and their children. The tournament featured five indoor sporting disciplines—Badminton, Table Tennis, Carrom, Chess, and Squash.
Vasudev Devnani appreciated the organising committee for successfully conducting such a well-planned and meticulously organised event. He commended the enthusiastic participation of doctors, faculty members, and their families. He said that such events provide a common platform for medical professionals from different institutions to come together, interact, exchange experiences, strengthen teamwork, and foster professional bonding.
He emphasised on maintaining the right balance between physical fitness and mental well-being.
Dr. Mohnish Grover, Principal and Controller, RUHS Medical College, said that such events promote physical fitness, mental well-being, sportsmanship, and professional coordination among doctors. He also expressed confidence that ARENA would evolve into a prestigious annual sporting event for the medical fraternity of Rajasthan.
During the ceremony, winners of the various competitions were felicitated. In the Men's Table Tennis Singles, Dr. Shrey Gupta emerged as the winner, while Dr. Ghanendra finished as the runner-up.
In the Women's Table Tennis Singles, Dr. Mahima Khichar was declared the winner and Dr. Divya the runner-up.
In the Men's Badminton Singles, Dr. Anil Yadav won the title, while Dr. Baseem Baig secured the runner-up position.
Dr. Sainath emerged victorious in the Carrom competition, and Dr. Aadhar Mathur won the Squash championship.
