Double engine propels double digit growth in Rajasthan, earns Rs 46k crore in first 4 months 

Rajasthan clocked 11.69% growth in revenue receipt earning Rs 45,958 crore in the first four months of this fiscal. This is 24.05% of the total budget estimate of the fiscal 2026-27. 

This impressive revenue growth in the state is attributed to and Housing (UDH) department, which has shown an astonishing 95.34% growth in revenue collection. 

Other important departments too have shown remarkable growth in revenue collection contributing to the financial health of the state. The petroleum sector has shown a robust growth of 34.03%. This is 41.18% of the annual target of department. With the inauguration of refinery and petroleum complex at Pachpadra, the revenue from petroleum sector is poised to swell. 

The higher production of limestone and zinc coupled with rise in LME prices, the department has shown a growth of 17.93% in the first four months of this fiscal. 

The state government has also earned 28.89% more than previous year during the first four months by integrating online services through simplification and rationalising of the DLC rates. The registration and stamps department has collected remarkable revenue from these registrations.  

Apart from that, there is also considerable 17.7% spike in revenue collected by Labour department from organised and unorganised construction activities. 

The transport department has also shown double digit growth (13.58%) due to intensive checking operations and automatic e-detection. 

The collection in Value Added Tax  has also gone up by 13.40% due to strong demand of the fuel and energy sector. At the same time GST collections have also increased by 9.54% due to increased trade activities and effective monitoring. The Excise department recorded a total growth of 7.54 per cent with 18% growth coming a single month of July.

Chief Secretary V Srinivas directs officials for strong action against tax evasion

Rajasthan Secretary V Srinivas, while reviewing the meeting, said that all departments must comply instructions of Chief Bhajan Lal Sharma and ensure timely implementation.

He said that tax evasion has been identified after intensive enforcement proceedings. 

“The enforcement wing has averted tax evasion of Rs 256.71 crore in a campaign against non-existent firms and fake ITC by identifying 63 firms,” he said. 

Srinivas directed that all high-value cases related to revenue and court suits should be continuously monitored. He directed to implement best practices like risk-based audit of Gujarat, and Karnataka, AI-based appeal review and e-way bill predictive analysis in Rajasthan.

He instructed all revenue departments to develop a robust, integrated portal on the lines of ITMS portal and prevent revenue loss by inter-departmental integration of data of DISCOM, RERA, IGR etc. departments.
