‘Drunk’ passenger held for mid-air harassment of a crew member on Jaipur-Bengaluru Indigo flight

The Bengaluru airport arrested a passenger in an inebriated condition, who had flown down from to Bengaluru in flight.
The passenger named Randhir Singh, 33 allegedly misbehaved with a female crew member mid-air in flight 6E556, which took off at 6.40 pm on Friday.

In the complaint, a security officer for IndiGo airlines stated that Randhir Singh held the hand of a female crew member on three occasions during the flight despite repeated warnings from the crew.

Singh, who was seated on 27D, created disturbance to other co-passengers also.

In a statement issued on the incident, IndiGo said, “A passenger on flight 6E556 from Jaipur to Bengaluru was intoxicated and misbehaved with the crew despite multiple warnings. The passenger was handed over to the local enforcement authorities on arrival for further legal action.”

Once the flight landed, a police complaint was filed for and unwelcome behaviour under section 354A of the Indian Penal Code.
