The cadre of Yuvraj Marmat, a 2022 batch IAS of Chhattisgarh cadre has been transferred to Telangana on grounds of marriage to P Mounika, who is an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer serving her home cadre.
The transfer has been effected under a the rule 5(2) of IAS cadre rules, which allows either of the two married officers to opt for inter cadre transfer on the basis of marriage.
Marmat had been in news for two reasons – one right and one wrong.
First he hogged the limelight when he got married to P Mounika in a simple marriage without any pomp and show at the court of Rajgarh collectorate where Marmat is posted as assistant collector. They hardly spent ₹2000 on their marriage when people spend millions in wedding ceremony.
A month after his marriage, Marmat was entangled in a case where a woman from Delhi alleged him of committing rape on pretext of marrying her. She alleged that he (Marmat) forced her to undergo abortion.
The woman said that Marmat used to live in her colony where he was preparing for UPSC examination. She came in contact with through a common friend and soon entered into a relationship.
On the other hand, Marmat also lodged an FIR against the woman of honey trap and blackmailing him. He alleged that woman was demanding ₹1.5 crore threatening to commit suicide and defame him over social media.
According to sources, the matter has been settled.
Who is Yuvraj Marmat?
Yuvraj Marmat belongs to Gangapur city in Rajasthan. Marmat's father – Sitaram Meena – is a retired officer from Rajasthan government's public relation department. A civil engineer from IIT-BHU, Marmat had worked with Indian Oil Company and Border Road Organisation (BRO) after clearing IES examination.
Marmat cracked IAS in his sixth attempt and got Chhatisgarh cadre after securing 458th rank in 2021 civil services examination.
Who is P Mounika?
P Mounika, a 2022-batch IPS, who studied Pharmacology, also attempted civil services six times. Her instagram profile says that she is a fitness freak and love music. She is also interested in meditation and public speaking while mentoring youngsters for civil services preparations.
