Former MLA from Kishanganj (Baran) and father of current MLA Lalit Meena, Hemraj Meena has accused Dushyant Singh, Jhalawar MP and son of Vasundhara Raje, of confining MLAs in resort.
Meena said that Dushyant Singh brought BJP MLAs of Jhalawar-Baran to Jaipur.
“When my son Lalit didn't return home, then I spoke to him. He told me that he (Lalit Meena) is staying at a resort on Sikar road and people are not allowing me to leave,” he said.
Shocked by revelation, Hemraj Meena went to that resort and informed BJP state chief C P Joshi and organisation general secretary Chandrashekhar about the incident.
“After that C P Joshi also reached the resort. But MLA of Anta Kanwar Lal Mena stopes is form taking Lalit back. He told us to first talk to Dushyant Singh. When I rang up Dushyant, he didn't pick up. The people over there tried to stop us but I took Lalit back from the resort,” Hemraj said.
According to sources, there were 5-6 MLAs staying at the resort. Kishangarh MLA Lalit Meena was also there. He got suspicious of the movement of MLAs who were planning to shift further to any hotel in Kotputli. He got scared and informed his father Hemraj Meena, who rescued Lalit Meena.
At a time when BJP is yet to announce chief minister for Rajasthan, this incident has sent shock waves in the party. There are many contenders for chief minister including former chief minister Vasundhara Raje of whom Jhalawar MP Dushyant Singh is the son.
According to sources, a couple of days back, Vasundhara Raje is said to have shown her strength by inviting 40-45 MLAs at her home expressing solidarity with her.
“In political circle, this incident was viewed as pressure politics to push for the candidature of Vasundhara Raje as chief minister,” said a senior BJP leader.
Sources said that Vasundhara Raje is likely to meet senior BJP leaders today in New Delhi and present her case for CM.
