Amid escalating military tension between India and Pakistan, Rajasthan government has strengthened its department of disaster management and relief by handing over additional charge of special secretary to Mahaveer Prasad Meena.
Meena, a 2013 batch officer promoted from state civil service, is currently working as managing director of state bunkar sangh – a relatively low key post.

The disaster management and relief department is being headed by additional chief secretary Anand Kumar, who is also handling the sensitive and key department of home.
“In the current war like situation, law and order is very important. Disaster management is equally important. To lend support to Anand Kumar, the government has given additional charge of special secretary to Meena,” said a senior IAS officer.
Apart from that, the state government has cancelled transfer order of Manoj Kumar Meena, who was transferred to border area of Gharsana (SriGanganagar) as SDO from Deoli (Tonk.
Now, Sunil Kumar Chauhan, who is serving as assistant collector in Udaipurwati (Jhunjhunu), has been transferred to Gharsana in his place.
