IAS S Krishnan elected President of IAS Central Association

S Krishnan, an IAS officer of 1989 batch from Tamil Nadu cadre, currently on central deputation serving as secretary electronics and information , has been elected as the new President of the IAS Central Association. 

The newly elected executive committee of IAS Central Association has Kunal as secretary, who is a 2005 batch IAS officer of AGMUT cadre. He is currently serving as joint secretary in youth affairs and sports ministry in

Apart from that, the executive committee also has two vice presidents – Sriram Taranikanti (TR, 1992) and A Anbarasu (UT 1996).

The executive committee nine members – G Thara (Gujarat, 1995), Rahul Singh (Bihar, 1996), Prasanna R (Chhattisgarh, 2004), Nitin Khade (Assam, Meghalaya, 2004), Dinesh Kumar (Nagaland, 2004), Roshan Chand Thakur (Himachal Pradesh, 2009), Manasi Sahay Thakur (Himachal Pradesh, 2009), Shah Faesal (UT, 2010) and Naveen Aggarwal (UT, 2013). 

Interestingly, the committee has an IAS couple from Himachal Pradesh, both from 2009 batch – Roshan Chand Thakur and Manasi Sahay Thakur  – as members.

The executive committee also has two joint secretaries – Chinmay Gotmare (AM, 2009) and Shelesh Nawal (Maharashtra, 2010) and a treasurer Aditi Singh, who is a 2009 batch IAS officer from cadre. 

Among the members from former IAS fraternity, Sanjay Bandhopadhyay (Madhya Pradesh, 1988) and Sanjay Bhoosreddy (Uttar Pradesh, 1989) have been elected. Bhoosreddy is a batchmate of the president S Krishnan. He is currently serving as chairman of Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) in Uttar Pradesh post retirement. Sanjay Bandhopadhyay is member of Supreme Court committee on road safety post retirement.

In his presidential address, S Krishnan emphasised the need for the highest community to actively demonstrate its value to the system through collaborative engagement, ethical leadership and institutional contribution. 

He underlined the importance of mentoring, young officers, projecting the service's positive work in the public sphere and strengthening partnerships with associations calling for unity. 

Krishnan urged members to work together with purpose and presence, specially by leveraging digital platforms to highlight governance, success and inspire confidence in public service.
