Karnataka government suspended senior IPS officer and DGP (Civil Rights Enforcement) K. Ramchandra Rao. The action has been taken after his alleged objectionable video went viral on social media. The official order said that Ramachandra Rao's conduct is a violation of rules.
Several video clips went viral on social media on Monday. In the viral clip, Ramchandra Rao, a 1993 batch IPS officer, was allegedly seen doing obscene behaviour with different women in uniform at his workplace. There was a political uproar after the video surfaced. Taking the matter seriously, the Siddaramaiah government decided to suspend Rao immediately.

What is written in the government order?
The DGP's suspension order said, “Rao behaved in an obscene manner which is unsecent for a government employee and it has also embarrassed the government. The state government is prima facie satisfied that till the investigation is pending, DGP Dr. K. Ramchandra Rao needs to be suspended with immediate effect”.
According to the order, Rao cannot leave the headquarters under any circumstances without the permission of the state government during the period of suspension.
