Jagmohan Meena, a 2013-batch IPS officer, has submitted his resignation citing personal reasons. He is currently serving as the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Bhubaneswar.
Meena, a native of Rajasthan, said that the decision has been taken after due consultation with family and friend.
“There is no external pressure on me. It's a well through out decision after 13 years of service. I request you all to respect my privacy,” Meena said after submitting neg resignation.
The resignation application is under process and yet to be accepted.
Though there is no indication as to where Meena will go after quitting the police force, there are speculations that Meena will join the private sector.
During his career spanning 13 years, Meena has also been involved in anti-Maoist operations, handled important cases, and taken charge of law-and-order situations.
“I express my gratitude to the people of Odisha and thank the state government for reposing faith by assigning crucial districts. It is a matter of pride for me to serve the state and its people,” said Meena.
Meena has served on various key posts including Superintendent of Police (SP) in districts such as Malkangiri, Angul, and Ganjam. He later became a DCP in Cuttack and is currently posted in Bhubaneswar.
