Rajasthan government has effected amendment in the Integrated Clean Energy Policy -2024 to facilitate land allotment to power companies signed up during Rising Rajasthan Global Summit.
As per the amendment, companies, which have signed MoU for renewable power plants or green hydrogen plants with 1000 MW or more, can reserve land parcel by paying up requisite amount even without having power purchase agreement or required connectivity.
“The revenue department may recommend to set apart land parcel required for the project if the company registers with Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Limited (RRECL) and pay up the requisite fees,” said a senior energy department officials.
Out of the total set apart land, the company will have to apply for allotment of at least one-third of the land within three years, next one-third in 4-6 years and would have to further apply for allotment of remaining one-third land in 7-9 years after depositing the requisite amount.
“This will help Rajasthan government identify serious players among the investors who have signed up MoUs. The government can then prioritise realising the pledged investment,” the official said.
