After over a month from his appointment at centre as joint secretary in fertiliser ministry, KK Pathak finally goes on deputation. Shuchi Tyagi, who is serving as transport commissioner will take care of personnel department. Pathak was also handling devasthan department, which will now be additional responsibility of Samit Sharma, who is serving as secretary animal husbandry fisheries and Gopalan.
Releasing Pathak was not easy
There was discussion in state government on releasing 2001 batch officer KK Pathak, who was handling department for personnel. The deputation of Pathak happened at a time when Rajasthan is reeling under shortage of IAS officer. As many as 23 IAS are on central deputation. Pathak was playing a key role in ensuring good governance. He introduced several IT interventions to make services of personnel department online and transparent. The state government had to release Pathak for deputation considering betterment of his career.
During his tenure, the staff of secretariat services get timely promotions. Considered as a ‘No Nonsense' officer, Pathak had served in important departments like finance, rural development and education. He had also served in chief minister's office when Vasundhara Raje was CM.
Pathak will report to Rajasthan cadre officer at centre
Pathak in his new assignment at Delhi will report to Rajat Kumar Mishra, who is serving as secretary in union fertiliser ministry. Mishra, a 1991 batch Rajasthan cadre IAS officer, has been on central deputation since 2019. He had served in economic affairs department of union finance ministry before being appointed secretary in fertiliser ministry in June 2023.
