Rajasthan Chief Minister is betting big on diaspora for roping in investment in the state. Those who left the state in early years due to lack of business opportunities, made it big world around, have now great potential in their motherland to reap back the success they achieved over the years.
Rajasthan is recognised as the frontrunner state in the investment readiness index of NITI Aayog. Rajasthan Chief Minister is focusing on introducing business reforms, incentives and sops to reduce cost of doing business, cut procedural bottlenecks and create a more investor-friendly industrial ecosystem.
And perhaps that is attracting investors and Non Resident Rajasthani (NRRs) to explore new business opportunities in the state.
Recently, Bhajan Lal Sharma visited Bengaluru, as a part of promotional campaign for the Pravasi Rajasthani Diwas to be organised n December 10. He connected with hundreds of investors and businessmen there and invited them to join the new business ecosystem being created in the state.
Rajasthan government is serious about homecoming of expatriates. It has set up an exclusive department – Department of Domestic and Overseas Rajasthani Affairs (DORA) – to woo successful businessmen around the globe back. The department is working in tandem with Rajasthan Foundation to tap high flying Rajasthani entrepreneurs. DORA reaches out NRRs through Rajasthan Foundation Chapters created across the country and overseas Rajasthani through international chapters in 12 countries.
What's the Plan for Pravasi Rajasthani Diwas?
Rajasthan Foundation and DORA are working towards connecting and inviting NRRs across the globe. Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma would be visiting cities like Chennai, Ahmedabad, Guwahati, Kolkata and Pune where concentration of Rajasthani businessmen is high. He will meet and interact with potential investors during roadshows and would hard sell the emerging business potential of the state.
