As many as 23 industrial park developers have shown interest in developing private industrial parks in Rajasthan.
Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation (RIICO) Managing Director Suresh Kumar Ola said that the proposals have been received for four industrial sectors.
“We have received 10 applications for Rajahera, Gudha Ashikpura and Noorpur and in Dausa district, 7 for Vederlai in Pachpadra, Balotra district, 4 for Bijoli in Dholpur and 2 for Mayeja in Bundi. The land will be done by e-auction through transparent process,” Ola said.
The development of industrial park will be done under Model – A in which RIICO provides the land while development is being undertaken by the private developer. RIICO has identified 374 hectares for developing industrial parks across locations in Balotra, Dholpur, Chittorgarh, Bhilwara, Dausa, Bundi and Didwana-Kuchaman.
Roles and responsibilities of private developer
The responsibility of developing roads, water supply, electricity, drainage, rainwater harvesting, street lighting and other infrastructure facilities in industrial parks will be the responsibility of the private developer.

In addition, facilities like green incentive for CETP, common utility centre, support for plug-and-play office premises and exemption/reimbursement in electricity charges, stamp duty and conversion charges will also be provided in these industrial areas to ensure a low cost high impact business environment in the park.
The private industrial parks must cover a minimum area of 50 acres and accommodate at least 10 industrial units.
Other models of Industrial Parks
There are other three models also under which parks are to be developed. Under Model B, private developers have to arrange 80% of the required land while 20% will be provided by RIICO.
Under Model – C, the entire land parcel has to be arranged by the private park developer while Model – D provides for industrial parks to be developed under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, allowing collaboration between the government and private investors to create large industrial zones.

Current Status of Private Industrial Areas in Rajasthan
There is one Special Economic Zone operational under PPP model at Jaipur in partnership with Mahindra (74%) and RIICO (26%). This 3000 acre SEZ houses several IT and automobile companies contributing in the economic growth of the state.
Apart from that there are few private industrial areas being operational in the state including Ratan Industrial Area, Solitaire Park, ARG Industrial Area and Riyasat Industrial Park among few.
”These private industrial parks are not much popular among industrialists. These areas are being developed by private developers on revenue land by converting it for industrial use. RIICO has no role to play in it,” said senior RIICO official.
