The Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) has ordered the re-allocation of IAS officer Amrapali Kata to the Telangana cadre from Andhra Pradesh. Kata is 2010 batch officer.
Official directives were issued on Tuesday. This decision follows a central government directive last year mandating AP cadre officers serving in Telangana to return to Andhra Pradesh.
The centre rejected objections from officers seeking to remain in Telangana. Consequently, IAS officers, including Amrapali Kata, Ronald Rose, Vakati Karuna, Vani Prasad, and Prashanthi, began duties in Andhra Pradesh.
Amrapali's re-allocation to Telangana, where she previously served as Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner, has sparked significant discussion. Her transfer to Telangana is now official. She was sent to Andhra Pradesh in October 2024.
