For the first time, the proceedings of the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) held on September 12, 2025 for promotion to IPS cadre from the Madhya Pradesh state police service has been cancelled.
The cancellation has delayed promotion of five officers who were short listed out of 15 officers of 1997 and 1998 batches. These officer included Sitaram Sastya, Amrit Meena, Vikrant Murab, Surendra Kumar Jain, Ashish Khare, Rajesh Raghuvanshi, Nimisha Pandey, Rajesh Kumar Mishra, Malay Jain, Amit Saxena, Manisha Pathak, Suman Gurjar, Sandeep Mishra, Savyasachi Saraf and Samar Verma.
Why the DPC was cancelled?
According to sources, DPC was cancelled over some confusion in the caste certificate documents submitted by Amrit Meena, a 1997 batch officer. Apart from that another shortlisted ofofcer was found to be facing a departmental inquiry.
No officer is ready to speak
However, no official is willing to say anything in this matter.
The DPC was held in Bhopal itself in the presence of members of the Union Public Service Commission, in which Chief Secretary Anurag Jain, DGP Kailash Makwana and Additional Chief Secretary Home Shiv Shekhar Shukla were present. Normally, the notification for promotion is issued in 15 to 20 days. But now it has been cancelled after a month and a half.
The delay in promotion 2024 batch in year 2025 will further postpone the promotion due for 2025 DPC to be held next year.
