Abhay Kumar, who is serving as Additional Chief Secretary, Water Resources, State Water Resources Planning Department, is holding additional charge of Commissioner RRBWRPA.
What is Rajasthan River Basin and Water Resources Planning Authority (RRBWRPA)?
The authority was set up through Rajasthan River Basin and Water Resources Planning Authority Act 2015. The objective of is to adopt an Integrated Water Resources Management approach for management and development of river basins and sub-basins on sustainable basis by planning of all watershed, irrigation and drinking water projects covering the basins, sub- basins, aquifers and watersheds to develop state level water resources.
Sriram Vedire, a prominent water resources expert and advisor, who is currently serving as the Adviser (Water Resources) to the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, was the first chairman of RRBWRPA during the regime of Vasundhara Raje.
