Anand Jain, a 1999 batch IPS officer of AGMUT cadre has been appointed as the new Director General of Police (DGP) of the Union Territory of Ladakh. He was transferred from Jammu and Kashmir, where he was serving as Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Armed Police, Jammu and Kashmir.
The 1999-batch officer was promoted to the rank of Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) in December 2023 and is now set to lead the union territory's police force.
Jain succeeded K K Sharma (IPS: 2012: AGMUT), who was given additional charge after Mukesh Singh (IPS: 1996: AGMUT) was moved to Manipur as the DGP of the state.
