IAS Rinku Singh Rahi, who hit the headlines after he survived seven bullet shots early in his career and later performed sit ups last year to apologise before advocates while serving as SDM Purwaiyan, is again in the news. This time for wrong reasons.
Rinku Singh Rahi, who cleared UPSC exam in 16th attempt, is currently serving as Joint Magistrate in Jalaun district in Uttar Pradesh. Lekhpal working under him have launched strike alleging his unprofessional working style and ill behaviour.
They have threatened to go on a mass strike while handing over a memorandum to District Magistrate Rajesh Pandey against Rinku Singh Rahi. They accused IAS Rinku Singh Rahi of causing mental harassment and disorder in administrative work.
Under the banner of Uttar Pradesh Lekhpal Sangh Jalaun, lekhpal of the tehsil raised serious questions on his working style. Lekhpal said that they have been carrying out important responsibilities such as government work and disposal of public grievances, disaster relief and elections with full loyalty and honesty for years, but the behaviour of the present Joint Magistrate has created an atmosphere of fear, stress and insecurity among the employees. Lekhpal allege that they are being repeatedly humiliated publicly by Rahi.
Block chief accused Rahi of attacking him
Block chief Ramraja Niranjan has also accused Joint Magistrate Rinku Singh Rahi of indecency, attempt to slap and push and shove during the inspection on June 23.
He had lodged a complaint with the District Magistrate in this regard.. The block chief has warned that he will approach Governor and would move High Court of the state government doesn't take action against Rahi.
Meanwhile, DM Rajesh Pandey has assigned investigation to a five-member committee led by ADM Finance and Revenue Rajeev Rai.
Joint Magistrate Rinku Singh Rahi clarified that allegations are malafide and have been levelled as he (Rahi) found lacunae while inspecting a cold storage.
According to people, on June 23, when IAS Rinku Singh Rahi along with chief fire officer, PWD, executive engineer and district garden officer went for an inspection of a cold storage in Bhitara village on the Urai-Jalaun road, they asked to furnish fire fighting records within two and a half minutes. However it took time to get the pump operational and get the records from the office. That agitated Rahi, who started making videos with mobile phones.
The block chief has alleged that SDM also used abusive language and tried to slap him when he asked to bring the records. The entire incident was captured in the CCTV camera.
