Jamui administration has appointed IAS officer Choudhary Shipra Vijaykumar and IPS officer Dipti Monali as nodal officers for speedy trial in the case involving public molestation and obscene acts against a school girl in Jamui.
The accused publicly molested on a deserted road of Madwa hill. The minor girl was returning home with her classmate on a scooter, when the miscreants stopped her. threatened and did obscene acts.
District Magistrate of Jamui Navin said that the administration is preparing to convict the accused within 15 to 20 days.
“We have appointed nodal officers and we are also ensuring coordination with the court so that the conviction happens in a super speedy manner,” he said.
Choudhary Shipra Vijaykumar is currently serving as Deputy Development Commissioner-cum-Chief Executive Officer at Zila Parishad in Jamui, Bihar. Dipti Monali is serving as Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) and heading the Special Investigation Team (SIT), which is investigating the case.
Jamui District Collector and Magistrate Navin said that the victim is a daughter of Jamui, and everyone should be mindful of her mental state.
“We need to curb posts being circulated on social media. This could hinder the investigation into the case,” he said.
Navin appealed to the public to exercise discretion when posting on social media. He noted that fabricated stories, as well as AI-generated and fake videos, are being circulated, posing a risk to the impartiality of the investigation.
Jamui SP Vishwajeet Dayal confirmed that the accused have been arrested. Nandan Yadav was arrested following a police encounter and sustained a gunshot wound to his leg.
Meanwhile, Hare Ram Yadav was injured after falling while attempting to flee. He was produced in court following medical treatment and has since been sent to jail.
Both the accused have criminal background
The accused arrested in the Jamui case have a long criminal record. The main accused Nandan Yadav's father Ganori Yadav was an absconding accused in the double murder case, who has been arrested and sent to jail. At the same time, the other accused Hare Ram Yadav has been associated with illegal sand mining. His tractor was also seized in the past.
FIR against 225 people who posted social media
The SP said that a case has been registered against 225 people who posted wrongly related to this case on social media. Three persons have been detained in connection with the case.
Security will be tight at tourist places
Navin said that work is in progress towards developing Jamui as a safe tourist destination.
“But this incident on September 19 has given a big blow to the ongoing effort in this direction. Police patrols, deployment of Dial-112 and security arrangements will be further strengthened at all such sights.
