At a time when opposition is baying for blood of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, the central government appointed Prakash Rajpurohit as Deputy Election Commissioner. He replaced Sanjay Kumar, who has been repatriated prematurely to his parent cadre AGMUT.
Rajpurohit, a 2010 batch IAS officer of Rajasthan cadre, was serving as Joint Secretary on the Department of Defence Production. He is considered as an efficient and upright officer with unblemished track record. His posting as Deputy Election Commissioner reflects his position in the government.
Apart from Prakash Rajpurohit, the Appointment Committee of Cabinet (ACC) approved appointment of 26 other Joint Secretaries.
Inderjeet Singh, who was recently empanelled as Joint Secretary, has been elevated as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Culture, where he was serving as Director. Singh is also 2010 batch officer of Rajasthan cadre and has an impressive track record. He has held various key positions in Rajasthan including Managing Director RIICO, Commissioner Department of Information Technology, Director Local Bodies and Collector in districts like Jodhpur, Alwar, Chittorgarh and Dungarpur.
Brijesh Panday (IAS: 2004: TR) was appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department of Capital Development for a tenure of five years.
Nikhil Varma (IRS IT: 2005) was appointed as Additional DG (FT) in the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) under the Department of Commerce for a tenure of five years. He replaces Vrunda Manohar Desai (IRS IT: 2003).
Vivek Khare (ITS: 1996) was appointed as Joint Secretary, National Testing Agency(NTA), under the Department of Higher Education for an overall tenure of five years ending 02 December 2029 by temporarily upgrading a newly created post of DS/Director to the level of JS in NTA for an initial period of two years.
C. Murugan (IAS: 2007: WB) was appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Road Transport & Highways for a combined tenure of five years ending 15 September 2030. He replaces Kamlesh Chaturvedi (IFoS: 1988: MP).
Tanvi Sundriyal (IAS: 2010: MP) was appointed as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs for a combined tenure of five years ending 25 August 2030. She replaces Rahul Jain (IAS: 2005: MP).
Navin Agarwal (RPS: 1997) was appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Legal Affairs for an overall tenure of five years ending 14 March 2027 vice Ajay Gupta (IRSS: 1993).
M Ramachandrudu (IAS: 2009: BH) was appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Minority Affairs for a combined tenure of seven years ending 26 August 2029. He replaces Ram Singh (IAS: 2008: AM).
Nishtha Tiwari (IRS IT: 2005) was appointed as CEO, Development & Welfare Board for Denotified Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Communities(DWBDNCs) under the Department of Social Justice & Empowerment for a combined tenure of seven years upto 09 December 2027. She replaces Apparao Veerelli (IRSS: 1993).
Manisha Trighatia (IAS: 2002: UP) was appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Urban Development for a tenure of five years Roopa Mishra (IAS: 2004: OD).
Avinash Jain (IRSE, Civil: 2001) was appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation for an overall tenure of seven years ending 06 February 2029 vice Subodh Yadav (IAS: 1999: KN).
Pawan Kumar (IRS C&IT: 2005) was appointed as Joint Secretary, National River Conservation Directorate (NRCD), under the Department of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation for a tenure of five years. He replaces Anand Mohan (IFoS: 1996: RJ).
Anita Shah Akella (IA&AS: 1996) was appointed as Joint Secretary, National Commission for Women (NCW), under the Ministry of Women & Child Development for an overall tenure of five years ending 25 May 2027. She replaces Radhika Chakravarthy B (IPoS: 1996).
Rajesh Malik (IRSME: 1994) was appointed as Executive Director, Food Corporation of India (FCI), New Delhi, under the Department of Food & Public Distribution for an overall tenure of five years ending 05 February 2029. He replaces Ashutosh Joshi (IA&AS: 1994).
Tamboli Ayyaj Fakirbhai (IAS: 2009: CG) was appointed as Executive Director(JS level), Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI), under the Department of Financial Services, for a combined ten combined tenure of five years ending 20 March 2029.
Sonia Pant (IES: 2001) was appointed as Adviser (JS level), NITI Aayog for a tenure of five years. She replaces Surender Mehra (IFoS: 1999: UD).
Nitin Kumar (CSS) was appointed as Additional Secretary, Central Vigilance Commission (CVC), under DOPT, for a tenure of five years. He replaces Ajay Kumar Kanoujia (CSS).
Rajneesh Kumar Tomar (IRSME: 1998) was appointed as CEO, National Highways Logistics Management Ltd(NHLML), under the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways for an overall tenure of five years ending 02 November 2030. He replaces Rajesh Malik (IRSME: 1994).
Health & Family Welfare Gets Four Joint Secretaires:
- Mohammed Y Safirulla K (IAS: 2010: KL) was appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Health & Family Welfare for a combined tenure of five years ending 27 August 2030. He replaces Nikhil Gajraj (IAS (HY:2008).
- Ritu Sharma (IRS IT: 2005) was appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Health & Family Welfare for a tenure of five years. She replaces Vandana Jain (CSS).
- Varnali Deka (IAS: 2009: AM) was appointed as Joint Secretary, National Health Authority (NHA), under the Department of Health & Family Welfare for a combined tenure of five years ending 28 August 2030 vice Jyoti Yadav (IAS: 2009: UD).
