Vikas Divyakirti, founder and managing director of Drishti IAS coaching institute, has once again found himself in a soup.
A local court of Ajmer has taken cognisance against him for allegedly making defamatory remarks against the judiciary.
Hearing to a petition filed by Advocate Kamlesh Manowliya, the court directed Divyakirti to appear in person before the court on July 22.
In the petition, Manowliya has alleged that Divyakriti has made objectionable remarks over collegium system implemented for the selection of High Court Judge.
Manowliya referred to clipping of a YouTube video titled “IAS versus Judge, who is powerful,” where Divyakriti is seen saying that a lot of ‘jugaad' needs to do for becoming a high court or a Supreme Court judge.
The court was told that in the controversial video, Divyakirti allegedly claimed that files of potential judges could be delayed through govt red tape, even after collegium approval.
He also allegedly made controversial comparisons between the powers of district judges and district magistrates, suggesting that judicial power is dependent on cooperation of police and administration.

Vikas Divyakirti had faced a huge backlash in 2022 also after his video of comparing Hindu goddess Sita with a ghee licked by a dog went viral on social media. The video that has made netizens angry on social media features Divyakirti narrating a story from Ramayana that includes a conversation between God Rama and Sita. In the video, Divyakirti is seen saying that when lord Rama won the war against Ravana then he said to Sita, “I did not fight the battle for you, I did it for the clan and as far as you are concerned, it is like as no one uses the ghee licked by a dog.
Later Divyakriti clarified that he has not made a mistake and there are scriptures that prove the conversation was written in some version of Ramayana and he was embarrassed to say it out loud but since it was a part of the topic he has to speak about it.
