Beawar collector Mahendra Khadgawat goes hard on illegal mining and encroachment 

Mahendra Khadgawat is stern on encroachment and illegal activities in the district. Ever since he took over the responsibility, he has been severe on such illegal activities. 

Khadgawat, on Saturday, removed encroachment on land worth Rs 5 crore in the nagar parishad area. 

There has been reports of rampant illegal mining in the Raipur subdivision. Recently he had set up special inspection team (SIT) led by Raipur SDO Gulab Singh Verma to keep a tight vigil on illegal mining. 

Khadgawat slapped a hefty penalty of Rs 38 crore on miners involved in illegal mining. 

“This gave a strong signal to those indulged in illegal mining. The administration is committed to prevent any such activity. This not only evade revenue but also cause damage to the environment,” said a senior officer of district administration.

In another action, the district administration penalised 17 landholding owners for illegal mining and levied a penalty of Rs 23.50 lakh. 

Innovative step to reach out to public

Mahendra Khadgawat launched an innovative – Meet Your District Collector – to reach out to public through web radio FM. The collector will participate in a direct dialogue with people of Beawar and will listen to their problems. People can air their problems on phone number 7339990969 and get a solution over a phone call through radio.
