Rajasthan principal secretary health Gaytri Rathore directs medical officials to ensure proper arrangements at health centres to fight against seasonal diseases

Taking a strong note and grave concern over recent cases of side effects of cough syrups in Rajasthan, principal directed doctors and pharmacists to follow proper protocols while prescribing medicines. At the same time, she advised general public to consume medicine as per the instructions in the prescription.

Red flag for any side effect patient

“ANM, ASHA workers and medial officers must ensure individuals with symptoms of cold, cough, fever or any disease to consult a doctor. They must inform the sector in-charge immediately if any patient with side effect comes across,” she said.

Rathore said that the state will be conducting house to house survey across the state from Saturday to prevent and control seasonal diseases. During the survey, the general public will be made aware of reaching the medical institution immediately if he is sick, taking the medicine on medical advice, keeping the medicine away from the reach of and taking necessary measures when the side effects of the medicine come to light.

“After rains there is spurt in seasonal diseases. We all have to work together to control the spread and provide proper treatment to patients. Proper arrangement of diagnostic tests and free medicines should be available at dispensaries and health care centres,” she said.
