Jaipur district administration is busy restoring the lost glory and magnificence of Galta pilgrimage, which not only has spiritual values but also rich heritage attached to it.
Jaipur district collector Jitendra Soni, who has been appointed as administrator of temple trust, has spent Rs 11.94 crore in restoration and beautification of Thikana Galta, which draws pilgrims and devotees from across the country.
The district administration has developed facilities for tourists and devotees. It has not only cleaned and beautified the holy temples and pools in Galta Tirtha, but has also done conservation work to preserve the artistry and heritage of the temple.

“Inscriptions describing the history of Galta tirth in Hindi and English have been etched for generations to know about the significance and historical value of this pilgrimage,” said Ashish Kumar, additional district magistrate.
He said that beautiful and attractive lights have been installed on heritage poles put up from Galtaji to Ghat Ke Balaji. the district administration has also developed selfie point, parking area, cobbled stone work, and welcome gate to give a grand look to the entry of the temple.
Apart from that, the district administration is also installing 15 CCTV cameras equipped with night vision technology on Ghat ke Balaji of the Ghatta temple complex and Galta temple complex. The forest department is planting trees to increase the green cover around the temple.
Galta has a great history and rich heritage
Surrounded by the Aravalli hills, Galta temple complex is surrounded by many temples, holy pools, mandapas and natural waterfalls. This divine grand temple is situated in the middle of a hilly terrain surrounded by a beautiful valley that attracts native foreign tourists.
The temple was built in 18th century by Diwan Rao Kriparam, who was a sevadar in the court of Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II. Even before the construction of the temple, this place used to be very important for Vaishya Ramanandis.
