KK Pathak, a 2001 batch IAS officer, who is serving as secretary department of personnel in Rajasthan government, has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Fertilizers, for a tenure of five years. He has been placed on the post which was vacated by Tina Soni, who was repatriated to Rajasthan cadre in May this year. Soni is currently serving as divisional commissioner Bharatpur. She was on APO for one and half month before getting appointment in state cadre.
After the appointment of KK Pathak, it is to been seen whether the state government relieves Pathak for central deputation or not. According to sources, state government had earlier given its nod for his central deputation. Now the state government is in no mood to spare him. Pathak is a hardworking upright officer. He gives his 100% wherever he is posted.
“Rajasthan government is facing shortage of good officers. Currently 22 officers are on central deputation. State can't afford to spare more as more than 50 officer are handling additional charges to run the government,” said a senior IAS officer.
