Two years ago, when Bihar cadre IAS Kundan Kumar launched Purnia Live Classes for providing quality online interactive education for students in remote villages, little did he know that his model of reaching out to students through online mode will be adopted for the entire state.
Kundan Kumar, now serving as Patna Collector, must be a contended person. His little innovation in a small district is going to revolutionise the entire education system in the state.
How it has happened?
Kundan Kumar showed a live demo of Purnia Live Classes to Bihar Chief Minsiter Samrat Chaudhary and Education Minister Mithilesh Tiwari in Patna.
The live class was being conducted from the district school of Purnia, where Anshul Kumar, the current DM of Purnia, was also present.
After watching the demo, Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary praised the initiative and directed the authorities to implement it in the whole of Bihar by August 15. Now ‘Purnia Live Classes' will be expanded as ‘Bihar Live Classes'.

The model provided students with live classes with recorded lectures, doubt clearing sessions and weekly tests. This led to thousands of students getting quality education from home.

Kundan Kumar has been honoured twice by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for innovation and exemplary work in public administration. He received the honour for innovations in digital education and agriculture in Banka district. His experiments in the administrative field have been discussed all over the country.
