IPS Amit Lodha of Khakee – The Bihar Chapter fame – faces gruelling enquiry from Vigilance unit

government's Special Vigilance Unit (SVU), which deals in controlling cases of civil servants, investigated The Bihar Chapter webseries fame IPS officer Amit Lodha for four hours. The SUV is investigating charges of disproportionate assets against Lodha, who is currently posted as in State Record Bureau.

Lodha, a 1998 batch IPS rose to fame after writing a novel based on Bihar's notorious gangster – The Bihar Diary. His fame further grew when Netflix produced a webseries based in his novel – Khakee – The Bihar Chapter. Now the SVU is investigating source of money involved in making the webseries.

Though there is no direct involvement of Amit Lodha in production of webseries, the SVU has found some kind of relation with owners of Friday StoryTeller LLP, which is the production company of the webseries. The SVU has also found some questionable financial transactions in the account of his wife Tanu Lodha.

The SVU sought written replies on many questions besides recorded answers from Lodha, who maintained that charges are frivolous and SVu should review it.

A native of Jaipur, Amit Lodha is son in law of retired IPS of Rajasthan cadre – Arun Dugar of 1969 batch. It has been alleged to that Lodha entered into a commercial deal with Netflix as a government servant and writing the book Bihar Diaries without taking prior permission or approval from the government. He has been booked under several sections of Penal Code and Prevention of Corruption Act.

Lodha faces corruption charges

Lodha is also facing corruption charges when he was posted as IG Gaya range. There has been allegations of corruption and illicit earnings by misuse of position.
