IPS officer Deepak Gahalawat brought laurels to the country by winning a bronze medal in the power lifting competition. He achieved this feat at the World Police and Fire Games organised in Alabama, USA.
Deepak achieved this feat by lifting 240 kg in the push-pull event in the 74 kg weight category of the 35 plus age group.
A 2012 batch IPS officer, Deepak Gahalawat is originally from village Nizampur Majra. His family currently resides in Rohtak.
Apart from being the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Headquarters) in Gurugram, he has served as Superintendent of Police (SP) in several districts. Deepak Gahalawat's contribution to sports as well as in the administrative service has been commendable. His achievement has inspired not only the police department but also the youth of the state.
Deepak Gahalawat's wife Seema Dhankhar is an Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer and is currently working as the Income Tax Commissioner in Gurugram. At the same time, his father Kulbir Singh has retired as an inspector in the Haryana Police.
