Rajsamand collector Arun Kumar Hasija vows not to take salary for January month if verification of beneficiaries of government schemes does not complete by January 28.
“I will not take salary of January month if underprivileged and poor don't get their rights by January 28. I have instructed accountant not to process salary,” he said.
According to district administration, 23000 cases of pension, 3200 cases of Palanhaar Scheme and 700 applications of Food Security scheme are pending with different SDMs of the district.
The decision of collector has put pressure on SDMs, who have also called for not taking this month's salary if 100% verification of all these social security schemes is not achieved.
The pension scheme including old age pension and widow pension has the maximum pension while the Palanhaar scheme under which financial aid is provided to orphan and destitute children too has significant pendency. The National Food Security Act sachem under foodgrains, oil and pulses are provided for free or subsidised rates has the least pendency.
“We expect to complete the pendency within the stipulated time frame fixed by the collector. I am sure we all will take out Daley and beneficiaries too will start getting the benefits,” said an SDM.
