Rajasthan Government Health Scheme, the insurance scheme which covers more than 15 lakh families of Rajasthan government employees, is running unabated.
Rajasthan Medical and Health Principal Secretary Gayatri Rathore said that the scheme is aimed at providing free and quality treatment to genuine patients covered under his scheme. Like any other day, more than 24,000 transaction identities were generated.
“There is no interruption and even on a holiday (Ramnavmi) affiliated hospitals saw similar number of patients. We are committed to protect interests of all – pharmacy, hospitals and patients together,” she said.
Rathore has been working hard towards cleaning up the mess in RGHS which has resulted in heavy losses to the exchequer. Several scams and frauds surfaced after she exposed the nexus of hospitals, pharmacy and beneficiaries misusing the scheme. She tightened the noose over defaulting hospitals.
The state government is committed to run this scheme in all the affiliated private hospitals and provide free medicines from registered pharmacies without any interruption.
“We are making regular payments to hospitals and pharmacies. While we have released payment of Rs 3,000 crore in this financial year, outstanding amount will also be paid in a phased manner,” said Nidhi Patel, Additional CEO of Rajasthan Health Assurance Agency, which implements the scheme.
