In a major reshuffle, Rajasthan government transfers 62 IAS officers shuffling all the important departments like finance, home, energy, PHED, urban development , tourism and local self-governance.
There is also a change in chief minister's office.
Alok Gupta (1996) who was serving as principal secretry to chief minister has come out of CM office to attain an important portfolio of industries department taking over baton from his batchmate Ajitabh Sharma, who had spearheaded Rising Rajasthan Global Business Summit. Sharma has been transferred to principal secretary energy with additional charge of chairman Rajasthan State Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited.
Shikhar Agrawal, who is serving as additional chief secretary to CM, will take up additional responsibility of chairman RIICO – the post Ajitabh Sharma was handling.
Finally Akhil Arora (1993), additional chief secretary finance and Anand Kumar (1994), additional c chief secretary home, who were untouched so far in BJP regime and were contributing with their respective portfolios handed over by Gehlot government, find new place of work.
Arora has been given charge of public health and engineering department (PHED) and ground water while Anand Kumar has been given charge of forest environment and climate change.
Anand replaced Arora's wife Aparna Arora (1993), who has been transferred to social justice and empowerment while Akhil Arora has been replaced by Vaibhav Galriya, (1998)who had handled urban development and housing department.
The home department has been given to Bhaskar Sawant (1995) who was handling PHED. Similarly, the UDH department vacated by Galriya, has been given to Debasish Prusty. The 2000-batch IAS was serving as principal secretary finance (budget). Naveen Jain (2001), who is currently serving as secretary finance (expenditure) has been given additional charge of budget.
Kuldeep Ranka (1994), who was serving as additional chief secretary social justice and empowerment has been given charge of higher and technical education.
