Rajasthan Police, IPF held awareness workshop for school students

Rajasthan Police jointly with India Police Foundation (IPF) organised a 6-day workshops for schools of classes 9-12 to educate them about the broader responsibilities of the police and their role in community safety. 

The workshops were a unique initiative to connect the young generation and school children with the functioning of the police station and connect them with policing.

Those workshops were organised under the directions of General of Police Rajiv Sharma, and Additional Director General of Police Community Policing Lata Manoj Kumar

Superintendent of Police community policing and nodal officer Pankaj Chaudhary, manager IPF Poonam Arora and retired IPS Vimla Mehra executed the programme and addressed students at the workshops.

Pankaj Chaudhary underlined the importance of this initiative and said that the main objective of the special workshops was to increase awareness and understanding of the multifaceted roles of police officers in student protection, crime prevention and community welfare. 

“It also aims to develop sensitivity towards maintaining law and order in the country and protecting vulnerable sections such as women, the elderly and children,” he said. 

Chaudhary said that the uniqueness of the workshops was that the students get an opportunity to learn from well-known retired and serving officers of the country. 

Among guest faculty, retired OP Singh and Amod Kanth shared information on important topics like justice and .

Apart from that, UNICEF Rajasthan representatives delivered lectures on the importance of Child Rights, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Cyber Security and Traffic Rules and representatives of SFL Jaipur on the importance of forensic science. The representatives of Municipal Corporation and SDRF have also made students aware of fire fighting and disaster management through demos.

In the past Rajasthan police has received national award in community policing in the year 2024 under the leadership of Pankaj Chaudhary.
