Women in Rajasthan are more safe safe in year 2026. There has been a remarkable decline of 13.3% in rape cases in the first half of the year as compared to corresponding period of last year. While 2088 cases of rape were registered last year, this year it has come down to 1809 cases. In cases of POCSO as well as crime against women, there has been decline reflecting better policing in the state. While cases of POCSO has come down by 20.90%, crime against women has dropped by 6.44% in the first half of the year.
The average investigation time has also decreased from 78.2 days in 2024-25, to 51.2 days in 2025-26 in POCSO cases and in rape cases, the duration has come down from 81 days to 52 days.
Rajasthan Director General of Police Rajeev Kumar Sharma said that Rajasthan Police has ensured women safety through units like Kalika Patrol Unit, Anti Romeo Squad, One Stop Crisis Centre, Suraksha Sakhi and Mahila Sal Suraksha Kendra. Also the Police conducted special drives like Operation Garima and Operation Khushi to enhance protection of women against crime.
Sharma, while presenting the detailed report card of the achievements of the last 6 months, said that Rajasthan Police will proactive prevent crime from happening.
“Now Rajasthan Police will not be limited to action only after the crime is committed, but the highest priority will be given to prevention of crime, breaking the economic backbone of criminals and implementing technology-based smart policing,” he said.
DGP Sharma said that due to police vigilance and pro-active policing, there has been a significant decline of 4.65 per cent in the total offences registered under the Indian Justice Code (BNS) this year compared to the first half of 2025 and the same period in 2026.
In the same period of 2025, 99272 cases were reported, while in this period of 2026, the number has come down to 94652. In contrast, the spontaneous action taken by the police has led to a 4.25 percent increase in cases registered under local and special acts (increased from 4,9087 to 51172 cases), demonstrating the aggressive tactics of the police against offenders.

Major decline in crime
Sharma clarified that there has been a major reduction in almost all the main titles of crime in the state. Compared to last year, there has been a sharp decline in murder cases by 4.41% (from 703 to 672), attempted murder by 11.17% (from 1288 to 1145), robbery by 16.28% (from 43 to 36) and robbery cases by 19.93% (from 577 to 462).
Similarly, there has been a decrease of 4.72% (from 5211 to 4965 cases) in cases of kidnapping/kidnapping, 13.36% (redulled to 1809) in cases of adult rape (from 2088 to 1809) and 20.90 per cent decrease in cases registered under the POCSO Act (from 1651 to 1306).
Even on the protection of vulnerable sections, there has been an overall decrease of 18.81% (from 3121 to 2534 cases) in cases registered under the SC/ST Act.
Historical reform in property related offences
During the press conference, Shri Sharma outlined the historic reforms of police seizure of goods in property related offences. He said that the percentage of seizures in loot cases has increased from 71% to 79.09% and in cases like snatching, the recovery of goods has reached an unprecedented jump from the level of only 9.58% to 58.24%. With this, the recovery of stolen goods has also improved from 10.34% to 24.79%.
Giving information about the campaign against drug and illegal arms dealers, he said that in this period, a total of 7,195 cases have been registered and large drug syndicates have been dismantled by increasing by 2.06% (24,310 to 24,811) in the Excise Act, 4.23% (6,428 to 6,700) in the Arms Act and a record 29.94% in the NDPS Act against illegal drug trafficking.
Effective measures to prevent Cyber Crime
Rajasthan Police has taken effective action on a large scale to prevent cyber crimes and provide quick relief to victims. In the budget announcement year 2026-27, the Hon'ble Chief Minister has announced the establishment of Rajasthan Cyber Crime Control Centre (R4C) and the establishment of AI Daksh 1930 call centre by keeping a provision of 100 crores, which is under process. With the capacity of Cyber Helpline 1930, a total of 53 lines are currently working in 24*7 three shifts. Two additional WhatsApp numbers 9256001930 and 9257510100 have also been made available for the convenience of the complainants.
Cyber police stations have been established in all 41 police districts of the state and a cyber help desk has been set up in each police station. Since the start of zero-FIR facility for cyber offences up to Rs 5 lakh from January 10, 2026, 405 online FIRs have been registered so far.
The number of cyber complaints stood at 1,47,384 in 2025, while 84,916 complaints have been received as on 30 June 2026. In the year 2025, a total of 3,432 cases were registered and an amount of Rs 768.7 crore was held. The percentage of hold amount increased from 23.54 per cent to 26.47 per cent.
Rajasthan Police has also taken effective action against emerging cyber crimes such as digital arrest. From 2023 to June 2026, a total of 136 cases were registered, in which 174 accused were arrested and an amount of more than Rs 52.23 crore was held.
Under cyber offences, 1.84 lakh missing mobiles have been traced through the CEIR portal till June 30, 2026, out of which 61,346 mobiles have been handed back to their owners. At the same time, more than 1.25 lakh SIMs and 1.19 lakh IMEIs used in cyber crimes have been blocked.
Effective action against drug
Rajasthan Police has achieved remarkable success by running a comprehensive campaign under the three-pronged strategy of taking action on the supply chain against drugs, reducing demand and getting rid of drug addiction.
Effective action was taken against illegal drug traffickers through 69 under the NDPS Act in 2025 and 23 Istgas so far in 2026. During the year 2025-26, 34 cases were registered across the state and 83 accused were arrested. Also, special action was taken against 224 hotspots (king pins) identified in 20 districts.
In order to break the economic back of illegal drug traffickers, demolition action was taken on properties worth Rs 55.01 crore in 66 cases in 2025 and illegal properties worth Rs 7.36 crore in 15 cases so far in 2026.
ATS takes action against terrorists and arms smugglers
ATS Rajasthan took major action against terrorism, illegal explosives, arms and drug smugglers. ATS Rajasthan registered 3 cases and arrested 3 accused under UAPA while taking effective action against terrorism and organised crime during 1 July 2025 to 30 June 2026.
7 cases were registered in cases of illegal explosives, 7 accused were arrested and huge quantities of explosive materials and equipment were seized. During this period, 5 cases were registered, 7 accused were arrested and weapons and cartridges were recovered by conducting a campaign against illegal weapons. At the same time, while taking action against drug smugglers, 15 accused were arrested and a large quantity of narcotics was seized. The ATS successfully disposed of information related to 66 IT Acts while taking action against the gang who made fake Aadhaar cards.
Under social media surveillance, the activities of 728 suspected individuals were monitored and the de-radicalisation process of 15 youths influenced by radical ideology was initiated. In addition, 25 bounty offenders declared in various cases were arrested and a prize money of ₹4.65 lakh was distributed.
Properties of smugglers to be seized
Finally, while sharing the roadmap of the future, Director General of Police Shri Sharma said that in the coming time, through CID (CB) and Anti Narcotics Task Force, the properties acquired by the crime of the big smugglers of the NDPS Act will be attached and seized on a large scale under section 107 of BNSS, section 111, 112 of BNS and PIT-NDPS. Along with this, the AGTF's special operations against gangsters firing and threatening gangsters will continue, and if necessary, proceedings will also be taken to extradite criminals hiding abroad. Action will be taken through R4C with a view to effectively curbing cyber crimes in the state.
