Rajeevika rolls out CRP Plus policy to facilitate grassroots empowerment

Rajasthan Rural Livelihood Development Council () has come up with a new community resource persons (CRP) Plus policy to promote economic and social empowerment on a rural scale and achieve new heights in the success of community-based development programmes.

This new policy is an important step in the empowerment and expansion of Self Help Groups (SHGs) and Community Based Organisations (CBOs) of Rajasthan.

Mission said that the objective of “CRP Plus Policy” is to strengthen the social reconstruction process in rural areas.

Under the CRP Plus policy, a new system of community resource persons (CRP Plus) will replace  the ‘Village Support Team'. This will facilitate the empowerment of community organisations such as Self-Help Groups, Village Associations and Cluster Level Federations (CLFs) in the most effective manner.

Giri said that better training, guidance and resources will be provided to the selected Community Resource Persons (CRPs) under this policy so that they can properly lead the social development activities at the local level. This will result in a significant improvement in the quality and reach of empowerment of community-based organisations such as SHGs, Village Organisations and Cluster Level Federations.
