Neelam Lakhara, a 2017 batch RAS officer, who was serving as sub divisional officer (SDO) Kumbhalgarh has been sent on awaiting posting order (APO).
Lakhara is considered to be an efficient and sincere officer. There has not been any major complaint against her. Her being on APO is point of discussion among RAS officer.
According to sources, Kumbhalgarh is a major tourist spot and the officer has to adjust to market forces.

“She was not in sync with market forces. Hence she has been removed. There is no doubt on her ability,” said a senior officer, who is working directly with Lakhara.
The department of personnel has citied administrative reason for putting her on APO.
A native of Jodhpur, Lakhara joined state administrative service late at the age of 39. She has spent all her career in Udaipur division. She had been assistant collector Udaipur, SDO Sarada, SDO Rishabhdev, SDO Gogunda, SDO Jhadol, SDO Udaipur and district excise officer Udaipur before going to Kumbhalgarh.
Except for her posting as SDO Abu Road, which is under Jodhpur division, all her services have been under Udaipur division.
