In a bizarre incident, suspended IAS trainee Puja Khedkar has alleged that one of her servants drugged her parents at family's bungalow and fled with mobile phones.
Following the complaint, Pune Police has launched an investigation.
According to police, Khedkar family lives in a bungalow on Baner Road along with domestic helpers. One of the servants, who had arrived from Nepal just eight days ago, is suspected of committing the crime.
Khedkar alleged that the servant gave sedatives to her parents, Dilip and Manorama Khedkar before rendering them unconscious. She further alleged that the servant tied her up too and fled with the mobile phones of all family members.
Khedkar said she managed to free herself using a door latch and then contacted the police using another phone.
“When the police team reached the spot, Dilip and Manorama Khedkar were found unconscious and were immediately shifted to a private hospital for treatment,” said a senior police officer adding that their condition is now stable.
Khedkar, however not yet lodged a formal complaint, informing them that she would do so once she feels mentally stable.
WHO IS PUJA KHEDKAR?
Puja Khedkar, a 2023-batch IAS trainee of the Maharashtra cadre, hit the headlines in 2024 after she was transferred from Pune to Washim over her inappropriate demands and indiscipline.
She had also unauthorisedly installed a beacon and Maharashtra state government insignia on her luxury Audi car.
Puja was also accused of wrongfully availing Other Backward Class (OBC) benefits as well as disability concessions to secure her position in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS).
