IAS Subodh Kumar Singh, who returned to Chhattisgarh from the central deputation, has been made principal secretary in the chief minister's secretariat.
The post of principal secretary to CM was vacant ever since Vishnu Deo Sai took over as the second tribal Chief Minister in Chhattisgarh on December 13, 2023.
Subodh Kumar Singh is counted as an efficient and straight forward result oriented officer.
The state government has issued an order in this regard. Singh was working on central deputation in Delhi for the last 5 years.
Subodh Singh, a 1997 batch IAS officer, was serving as additional secretary and financial advisor in union steel ministry prior to returning to Chhattisgarh. Before that, he was director general of national testing agency (NTA) that conducts that conducts the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (undergraduate) or NEET-UG. He had also worked as joint secretary in union food ministry.
Singh has worked as a collector in several districts of Chhattisgarh, including Raipur, in his career. During Dr Raman Singh's third term, he held important responsibility as secretary in the chief minister's secretariat.
