A black Innova Crysta car of chairman of Rajasthan Real Estate Appellate Tribunal (RREAT) is moving around without any number plate, violating the basic traffic rule and regulations of transport department.
The car neither has a number plate on front side nor on the rear side.
All vehicles are required by law to display a valid, government-issued number plate under motor vehicle regulations, such as the Motor Vehicle Act and Rule 50 of the Central Motor Vehicles Rules in India.

According to rules of transport department, driving a car without number plate is a gross violation and attracts a penalty of Rs 5,000.
Here in this case, the violation is more than breaking traffic or transport rules.
“If a judicial luminary is traveling in a number plate less car, it has more to do with moral grounds. Breaking law is the least we expect from a senior judiciary member like the RREAT chairman,” said Mahendra Sharma, advocate with Rajasthan High Court.
Why vehicles should have proper legitimate number plates?
A vehicle must have a legitimate number plate because it serves as its official identity, ensures legal compliance, and supports safety, security, and traceability on the road.
“A proper readable number plate helps in identifying and tracing a vehicle which may be involved in an accident, any criminal activity or otherwise. It is mandatory for a responsible citizen to follow rules and hit the road with valid number plate, registration number and driving license,” Sharma said.
