A day after Haryana IPS officer Y Puran Kumar committed Suicide at his residence in Chandigarh, his wife senior IAS officer Amneet P Kumar filed an FIR in the Chandigarh Police Station of Sec-11 against Haryana DGP (Police Chief) Shatrujit Kapoor and Rohtak SP Narendra Bijarnia.
Amneet P Kumar was on official trip to Japan with Haryana chief minister Nayab Singh Saini when the suicide happened. On her return, she spoke with senior officers including chief secretary Anurag Rastogi. Later she lodged FIR against DGP and SP Rohtak on the basis of 8-page note Puran Kumar had left before killing himself with service revolver in the basement of his government house.

Amneet P Kumar has accused Haryana DGP Shatrujit Kapoor and Rohtak SP Narendra Bijarania of harassing her husband over caste discrimination and mentally torturing him.
She alleged that on directions of DGP Rohtak SP registered a false case (FIR-number 0319/2025) against Y Puran Kumar before his death at the Urban Estate police station in Rohtak. She alleged that it was a deliberate conspiracy.

“That's the reason why my husband committed suicide in extreme despair,” she wrote in the complaint.
The senior IAS officer claimed that her husband was casteised and publicly humiliated because he belongs to the SC/ST community.”
She said that when she reached home from her visit to Japan, she found her husband's 8-page suicide note expressing his pain and mentioning the harassment being done by the DGP and other officers. This suicide note contains the names of many officials.
The IAS officer claimed that she also found a copy of her husband's suicide note from the wardrobe and laptop, which she had handed over to the Chandigarh police.
Amneet P Kumar has requested that a case be registered against Haryana DGP and Rohtak SP under Section 108 of the Indian Justice Code and SC-ST Act and urged them to be arrested immediately.
According to reports, this note has 30-35 IPS and some IAS officers, who have been accused of discrimination and harassment in casteism, posting. Puran Kumar has also left a will, in which he has given all his property to his wife.
