Taking a strict action after a techie drowned to death following his car falling into a Noida drain, the Uttar Pradesh government removed Noida Authority CEO, Lokesh M and put him on ‘waitlist'.
At the same time, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered an SIT probe into the incident.
The three-member SIT will probe the reasons and circumstances leading to that accident in which 27-year-old Yuvraj Mehta's car plunged into a water-filled pit at a construction site two days ago, a senior official said.
How the incident happened?
Mehta, an employee of a Gurgaon-based private company, while returning home in Noida drove his car into the drain, which allegedly had a damaged boundary wall. He screamed for help for around two hours while standing atop his partially submerged car as policemen allegedly kept watching. The incident happened around 12.30 am.

After his deaths, Yuvraj's father Raj Mehta filed a complaint with police blaming administration for death.
“Due to fog the visibility was poor and the boundary wall near the drain was already broken. The car fell in the drain due to negligence of the administration,” he said.
Who is Lokesh M?
M. Lokesh, a 2005 batch IAS officer, had taken charge as CEO of the Noida Authority on July 20 last year. Prior to that, he had served as Divisional Commissioner of Saharanpur and District Magistrate in various districts, including Mainpuri, Etah, and Ghazipur.
