Ahead of assembly polls, Jaipur Police Commisioner Anand Srivastava effected transfer of 100 inspectors and Station House Officers in the city. Most of these officers have been replaced by non field staff.
As per rules of Election Commission of India (ECI), field officers have to be transferred if their stay on that post is more than 3 years in last four years in the polling state. Srivastava, who has spent more than 4 years in this post, is also expecting a transfer within day or two. The ECI has sought a report on transfers of such officers from Chief Secretary and DIrector General of Police by July 31, 2023.
“Before his own transfer, Srivastava executed transfer of field officers to comply with ECI orders. We may expect a supplementary list also in a day or two,” said a senior police official.
According to sources, transfer list of deputy superintendent of police is also expected. In last 20 days two transfer lists of additional superintendent of police have been released.
