At least 7 feared dead in stampede at RCB victory parade

At least seven persons feared dead while several are believed to be injured as thousands of fans gathered outside M Chinnaswamy stadium in Bengaluru to celebrate the victory of RCB in the 2025 IPL championship on Wednesday. The death toll is likely to go up in the stampede. 

According to sources, fans were injured after a stampede-like situation erupted at Gate No.3 of the stadium where the RCB team was expected to turn up to celebrate the much-awaited victory. 

Around 24 people, including a six-year-old girl, are believed to be injured. Sources said that injured have been admitted to the Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital. 

Thousands had converged at Chinnaswamy stadium since early evening in expectation of celebrating with the RCB team that was expected to turn up in the stadium with the trophy.

The team landed at the HAL Airport on Wednesday afternoon and headed to the Vidhana Soudha in their team bus to meet . The Rajat Patidar-led team was received by state's D K Shivakumar at the airport.

Visuals online showed shifting injured and unconscious people to a nearby hospital. In the IPL 2025 final held at Stadium in Ahmedabad on Tuesday, RCB defeated Punjab Kings by six runs to win the first IPL title in 18 years.
